BREAKING: Hard times as Single Mother of Three Jumps Into Osun River

A single mother of three attempted suicide by jumping into the osun river in osogbo, in osun state over her incapacity to continue providing for her children due to the lockdown

Kafayat the mother of three, who looked emaciated, said that she had three children and her husband was resident in Lagos.

The woman, who was rescued breathing with difficulty when she was rescued, said she was tired of life and should be left to die.

“I am Kafayat Alake from Alapaaro’s Compound, Osogbo. I am a mother of three. My husband lives in Lagos. I am tired of living because things are hard,” she grumbled.

Speaking to the man who rescued her, David Johnson, said he saw the woman climbing the Gbodofon Bridge in an attempt to commit suicide around 1pm.

Johnson stated, “I work in a nearby hotel. Some people came for a drink and after they left, I stood in front of the hotel, immediate  people started shouting for help I quickly rushed towards the bridge.

The woman had already jumped into the river and I had to run towards the direction where the water was flowing to, and I jumped into the river too.

“I struggled to reach her, because the water was sweeping her towards the deeper part of the river and I pulled her out. In the process of savings her life, I lost my phone.

Alake, while being questioned by reporters after her rescue, said she hails from Alapaaro, Isale Osun, Osogbo. According to her, she has three children and she could not continue to fend for them due to her financial difficulties.

The woman was later taken to a nearby hospital by the ambulance team of the state.
