Coronavirus: Malawi Records Its First Case of COVID-19.

Malawi one of the 5 counties in Africa without the confirmed cases of coronavirus has now recorded its first case of the virus.

Three persons in the southern African country have tested positive for the virus.

Malawi President Arthur Peter Mutharika has made the announcement in an address to the nation on thursday, and the government also Twitted about it on its official handel.

The virus was detected in a 61 year old woman who had recently travelled to India to visit her relatives, two other contacts are her domestic worker and her relative also tested positive.  

After its first recorded COVID-19 cases, Malawi joins other southern African countries which have imposed lockdowns in their counties because of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
