Health Minister Begs Nigerians To Donate Their Properties

Health Minister, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has appealed to Nigerians who own properties around the country to donate their empty buildings to help the ministry house patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The Minister said as the NCDC targets to test two million people in the next three months more facilities would be needed to isolate positive persons.

Ehanire appeal to Nigerians at the press briefing of the Presidential Task Force on coronavirus in Abuja. 

Ehanire also said, "I have appealed to citizens to make their properties available temporarily for this purpose. I am sure that after that, there are many property owners who will come up and donate to state governments for a period of time to be used for this function. 

“We are not out of space yet but we are making the appeal in other to prepare ahead of time so that we have these facilities ready to isolate patients.”

The Minister stated that he was fully aware about the hazard allowance of the frontline health workers of coronavirus fight was being negotiated, and he added that it did not include the environmental health personnel.

Ehanire stated also that nigerians should take advantage of the 15 test laboratory Centres in Nigeria which has increased its test capacity to 2500.
