Ex Kogi senator who represented kogi central, Senitor Dino Melaye, has filed a lawsuit against Femi Gbajabiamila, house of representatives speaker, Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the federation, Adamu Muhammed, the (IGP) inspector General of Police, among others at the Federal High Court in FCT, over disease bill.
The bill that was titled "Control of Infectious Diseases Bill 2020", which was sponsored by the Speaker House of Representatives with his colleagues, Pascal Obi and Tanko Sununu, that seeks to assist the Federal Government to turn any property in the country, including private properties, to isolation centres in order to isolate more patients.
According to senator, the proposed law is designed to assist the Federal Government to curb the spread of a possible outbreak of COVID-19.
Many nigerians and lawyers has described the bill as ruthless and suspicious, Apart from members of the House representatives, who complained that they were not given copies of the bill while it was read at plenary on Tuesday before it hastily passed first and second readings on the same day.
Melaye, had tweeted on Monday that he had taken legal action against the Sperker and others.
