NCDC Driver Tests Positive For Coronavirus

The Nasarawa State Government has reported another new cases of coronavirus in the state. 

Governor Abdullahi Sule revealed this while informing journalists on coronavirus updates in Nasarawa state on Tuesday. 

He revealed that the new COVID-19 case is one of the drivers of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), who transported samples of people believed to have been infected with coronavirus from the state to Abuja. 

He said the driver resides in Ado in Karu local government area of Nasarawa state, was declared positive  of coronavirus on Tuesday morning.

According to governor A.A. Sule, the patient was taken to one of the isolation centres at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, for proper treatment.

He added that all coronavirus patients are currently receiving treatment at the state isolation Centre in Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia and the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi.

He also said that 6,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) have been delivered to the state along side with 50,000 imported face mask, and also the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has also locally produced 50,000, face mask.

He adviced that the people of the state to comply to all government’s directives on coronavirus in order to curb the spread of the disease, with the new case the state has 12 recorded active cases of coronavirus and one death.
